A second selection of brooches from the Author's collection with additional notes on some Anglo-Saxon and Medieval types. Contains drawings and descriptions of over 500 brooches in four sections - Iron Age brooches, Roman brooches (Bow brooch types, Plate brooch types), Penannular brooches etc.

The book is in very good condition. The paper dust cover shows a little age related discolouration and shelf wear, as do exposed page edges but is not damaged; the board cover retains its bright green colour with gilt lettering. The inside of the book could be described 'as new'. First reprint of the 1985 edition.
